Generic Plavix (Clopidogrel) is used to reduce the chance of heart attack or stroke in patients who have already had a heart attack or stroke or in people with other blood circulation problems that could lead to a stroke or heart attack. Clopidogrel reduces the chance of harmful blood clot formation by preventing certain cells in the blood from clumping together. This may lead to increased chances of serious bleeding in some people.
